English Education Department Welcomes Field Assessment Team for Reaccreditation with Grand Opening Ceremony

The Field Assessment for the reaccreditation of the Department of English Education / Tadris Bahasa Inggris (TBI) at IAIN Kudus' Tarbiyah Faculty occurred on November 21-22, 2024. The opening ceremony was held in the second-floor auditorium of the SBSN building. It was attended by various dignitaries, including the rector, vice-rectors, the head of the bureau, Tarbiyah faculty dean and the deputy deans, the chairwoman and the secretary of the Department of English Education, faculty staff, the task force team, partners, users, alumni, students, as well as assessors from Independent Educational Accreditation Institutions / Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri (LAMDIK) represented by Dr. Meinarni Susilowati, M.Ed from UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim and Prof. Dr. Ilza Mayuni, M.A. from Jakarta State University.

It commenced with a special performance by the TBI choir group, EDCho, singing the national anthem and the TBI Mars song composed by TBI student, Uqiyanus Labiba. 

The rector of IAIN Kudus officially opened the event, Prof. Dr. H. Aburrohman Kasdi, M.Si. Delivering the opening speech, he expressed his pride in  TBI for its distinct contributions to IAIN Kudus. He commended the achievements of TBI lecturers who have advanced the university's reputation on an international scale, such as conducting research in the Philippines, conferences in the United States, community services in Japan and Korea, and participating in international conferences organized by the Gender and Child Studies Center / Pusat Studi Gender & Anak (PSGA) of IAIN Kudus.

Next, Dr. Meinarni Susilowati, M.Ed., addressed her role in assessing TBI to identify its strengths and areas that require attention. She highlighted the crucial role of the rector in ensuring educational quality and the smooth execution of the assessment process, aiming for a positive impact on the program and the entire academic community. 

Furthermore, Professor Dr. Ilza Mayuni, M.A., who was the second assessor, explained that the objective of the evaluation was to provide constructive suggestions that would improve the overall quality of education within TBI. In her statement, she stated her desire for the evaluation process to be fruitful and effective.
It is anticipated that this field assessment will make a good contribution to the development of the Department of English Education at IAIN Kudus, as well as to the benefit of the broader academic community. The evaluation will place an emphasis on collaboration and will be committed to continual improvement.
