IAIN Kudus Students Encouraged to Become Agents of Religious Moderation through English Education

KUDUS – The English Education Department of IAIN Kudus successfully held an event titled Moderation in Religion in the English Education Department Setting 2021 on Monday, October 4, 2021. The event took place in the campus auditorium and was attended by students, lecturers, and several academic figures committed to strengthening the values of religious moderation within the educational environment.

The event aimed to instill an understanding of religious moderation as a fundamental principle in interacting amidst diversity. The chairperson of the committee, Taranindya Zulhi Amalia, M.Pd., stated that this event was a strategic step to foster an inclusive attitude among students. “We want students not only to master the English language but also to become agents of change in promoting tolerance and harmony,” she said.

The main session featured a presentation by an expert speaker, Nuskhan Abid, M.Pd., an education and religious moderation specialist. The interactive discussion became one of the highlights, where participants actively asked questions and shared their experiences. Students showed great enthusiasm in exploring how the values of moderation can be applied in a global context.

The event received positive responses from various parties. One of the participants, Aditya Rizky, stated that the material presented was highly relevant to the needs of the younger generation. “This event broadened our understanding of how to be more tolerant and appreciate differences,” he said. With the conclusion of this event, students are expected to better internalize the values of religious moderation in their daily lives and become role models in their communities.
