KUDUS – The English Education Department (TBI) of IAIN Kudus held a workshop titled Preparation for Compiling the Book “Speaking for Professional Purpose” on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. The event featured Drs. Ulin Nuha, M.Pd., as the main speaker, aiming to provide guidance and strategies for compiling a book that will serve as a primary reference in teaching professional speaking skills.

In his presentation, Drs. Ulin Nuha, M.Pd., emphasized the importance of creating a book aligned with the needs of the professional world. “This book not only helps students develop effective speaking skills but also prepares them for professional scenarios such as job interviews, business presentations, and academic forums,” he explained. The material included content planning, techniques for presenting material, and designing practical exercises.

Participants, consisting of lecturers and students, actively engaged in discussion and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas for the book’s content. Maya Indah, one of the participants, expressed her enthusiasm for the workshop. “We feel involved in the process of developing a book that will significantly enhance our speaking skills,” she said.

The Head of the English Education Department, Taranindya Zulhi Amalia, M.Pd., highlighted the significance of this book in strengthening TBI’s curriculum. “We hope this book will become both a practical and academic guide to help students achieve professional competence,” she remarked. Through this workshop, it is expected that the compilation of Speaking for Professional Purpose will proceed smoothly and become a valuable contribution to English language education at IAIN Kudus.
