On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, English Education Study Program/Tadris Bahasa Inggris (TBI), Tarbiyah Faculty, IAIN Kudus, held a consortium activity to discuss the curriculum based on Freedom of Learning Independent Campus/Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). This activity occurred in the Microteaching Laboratory and was attended by 15 participants, including Taranindya Zulhi Amalia, M.Pd, the Chief of the study program. The main discussion in this meeting was about implementing the MBKM curriculum and preparing related programs.

The TBI's Consortium explained how MBKM is implemented in the Study Program. MBKM uses a learning block model outside the Institute, with the flow of students following learning in the TBI Study Program from semester one to four with National and Institute Courses, as well as departmental courses. While the fifth semester students follow learning outside the study program in the Institute. Then, the sixth to seventh semester students follow learning outside the Institute.

Consortium participants also provided suggestions, including the addition of relationships and the procurement of MoUs, as well as the development of lecture materials related to MBKM. The conclusion of this activity emphasized that implementing the MBKM-based curriculum in the English Department will be carried out through learning inside and outside the institute.
