On Monday, April 29, 2024, the Department of English Education has hosted a workshop on edupreneurship. This event took place in the Faculty of Tarbiyah IAIN Kudus. All students enrolled in the study program who are in their sixth semester are required to attend this event. This is due to the fact that students in the sixth semester are required to complete a course called edupreneurship as part of their curriculum.

The proprietor of the ELFATA Institute in Indonesia, Mr. Totok Indra Suswanto, was the resource person who was responsible for delivering presentation in this event.  The participants were presented with the opportunity to get instruction in the development of edupreneurship, which is a term that refers to the practice of business in education, particularly in the field of English education.

During the workshop on edupreneurship, the resource person provided an explanation concerning the evolution of edupreneurship and discussed a variety of experiences that they had felt while working in the sector of education. In addition, the resource person provided an explanation of the various business models that are utilized by edupreneurs. These business models include English Courses, Tutoring Institutions, Private Course Agents, Translation Agencies, English Dormitory, English Consultants, and English Event Organizers.

Because this is one of the professional prospects that they will have in the future as graduates of Department of English Education, the participants were quite excited about the opportunity to take part in this session. Following the presentation of the content that was delivered by the resource person, the question-and-answer session took place.

The participants were also enthusiastic about asking questions and reporting the challenges they encountered in the edupreneurship that they were pioneering. The majority of individuals who conveyed the challenges that they encountered were the pioneers of the Tutoring Institute. It is highly helpful for the participants to participate in this activity in order to develop the edupreneur that they are developing.
