In order to improve the quality or performance of a system, skill, or piece of technology, it is common practice to upgrade it. At the same time, members can get together at the HMPS campus for the Annual Meeting (Raker) to talk about initiatives, tactics, and common goals in order to move the organization forward. Raker makes it easier for people to work together and make plans to accomplish a common goal.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 8:00 am, the inaugural agenda of EDSA was carried out with zeal and a sense of fresh beginnings, welcoming new members to discuss work programs for the upcoming term. A number of professors were present during the ceremony, including the first chief of EDSA, Mrs. Hj. Alfu Nikmah, and Mrs. Setyoningsih, S. Pd., M. Pd.  There are 35 members of EDSA, including sema-dema Ms. Destinia Yudiana, S. Pd., and Aisyah Nuriyatul Mufarihah, the fifth chief of EDSA. Beginning with an introduction given by the master of ceremonies, the event will feature the singing of the Indonesia Raya song, reading of holy Quranic verses, a speech by the chairman of EDSA 2024, and a final address by Mrs. Hj. Alfu Nikmah, M.Pd.

Being in this position requires a great deal of responsibility and enjoyment, as well as a strong resolve to overcome obstacles and improve the study program. For this, I am sure you are all appreciative. IAIN Kudus has an English Department, and we need to demonstrate that by improving our English skills and making ourselves known to others. Mrs. Alfu made the statement in place of the absent head of the English department.

We all posed for a group photo after Mrs. Alfu's remarks, capturing an intimate moment that will be cherished forever—just like a cup of hot, sweet tea on a rainy day. The academics were unable to make it until the very conclusion of the ceremony because of an unforeseen circumstance; in the midst of the torrential downpour, the EDSA committee broke the ice. The good times began when everyone got together to perform a song. From there, the first chief of EDSA, Ms. Desti, carried on with caring and talking about the organization.

"In the past, there were only 2 classes, the election of the chairman only used flipchart paper and markers and was held in the library."

Ms. Desti gave a history of EDSA, including its inception, early years, and driving forces. I believe God is always right when He assigns responsibility to people," she declared. She went on to say that orphan recompense was EDSA's original goal, and that it should remain an agenda item because it was an important and unforgettable part of her EDSA experience. Moreover, Ms. Desti emphasized that "the organization belongs to the collective, not the individual," so there's no need to be scared of being hated or ridiculed. If you need to consult the head of the English department on anything, feel free to do so. Additionally, it is inappropriate to publicly scold individuals.

This was followed by an evaluation from the previous EDSA chief, Ms Farihah, "Lack of communication, if there is anything communicated face to face, in the grub and respond, because if not it will get tired itself. Keep the attitude, and always learn to be better."

The audience felt energized by hearing the stories, motivations, and evaluations from the two demissionary chairmen of EDSA. Then, all of them took a photo together.

Afterwards, we had departmental meetings to go over the upcoming work program. In order to engage the students of the English Department at IAIN Kudus, develop their skills, and refine their talents, this term will see the implementation of a variety of work programs that are undeniably heavy, entertaining, and fascinating. A precious and lovely moment has passed. We had a great time laughing and playing. It was a day I will never forget."Lack of communication, if there is anything communicated face to face, in the group chat and reply because if not, it would become weary itself," Ms. Farihah, the former head of EDSA, said, continuing her evaluation. Always strive to do better and maintain an optimistic view.

The audience was moved after hearing the two demissionary chairs of EDSA talk about their backgrounds, aspirations, and evaluations. Afterwards, they got into position for a group shot.
