TBI News – All universities want to get good accreditation. This is one of the things that English Education Department of IAIN Kudus is fighting for. Accreditation is something that is important to be a benchmark to ensure graduates from a higher education institution or study program are eligible and well-controlled.

Assesment Process

The preparations for the field assessment took place 2 years ago, starting with the submission of files in 2019 to BAN-PT (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi). The assessment should have been held in 2020, but it should be postponed due to an unexpected covid 19 pandemic. There were many trials during the pre-accreditation process because some of the accreditation drafting teams were affected by the COVID-19 case, but our team still solid, Mrs Alfu said. Lecturers with the help of students work together to prepare files and evidence to be submitted to the field assessor team

Implementation of Assesment

The field assessment was carried out in two days, it was on Friday-Saturday, 11-12 June 2021 through zoom meeting. In the implementation of this field assesment, lecturers and students will be asked questions by the assessor team to account for some of the data and activities that have been organized by lecturers and students. On this occasion, the field assessor team was Dr. Muhammad Farkhan, M.Pd. from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah and Dr. Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini, SS., M. Hum. from Udayana University. The first day of assessment (11/06) was a session that involved lecturers in the assessment process and lasted from morning to evening. On the second day (12/06) which was a special session for students with assessors team and not a single lecturer joined the zoom meeting. Students were represented by 11 students consisting of 3 students from 2017 class, 4 students (2018) and 4 students (2019). The assessment process went very smoothly and received praise from the assessor team. ....online communication must be smooth that supported by technology is a challenge, but Alhamdulillah, the assesment process went smoothly, Mrs. Alfu said. The second day was also the closing day of the series of field assessment events.

Field Assessment Results

It has been two week after field assesment, the good news was received by English Education Department on (30/06/2021), because the result of the assessment from BAN-PT (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi) showed satisfactory results, which is GOOD or BAIK in bahasa. This is a very good result, considering that TBI is a new study program at IAIN Kudus and does not yet have graduates or alumni. Of course there are still many evaluations that we have noted as enthusiasm for us to go further in developing English Education Department and together with all parties to build English Education Department to become a superior English Education Department in the future, Mrs. Alfu statement.

With the satisfactory results of English Education Department assessment, this cannot be separated from all supports of various parties, from the Chancellor of IAIN Kudus, the Dean of Tarbiyah Faculty, TBI Lecturers, IAIN Kudus staff and also students. And with this result, TBI is ready to face and produce graduates and alumni for the first time.
