TBI News - The team from the English Education Department of IAIN Kudus became runner-up in national short video competition 2021. This competition was held by the KKN of the engineering faculty of Mulawarman University starting on March 22 and the winner announcement was on April 27, 2021. This competition was held online by sending competition video and published on Youtube Channel BPU UNMUL. Approximately 80 participants came from various regions in Indonesia and from various levels of education. With the theme of COVID 19 and the video entitled NEGLECTED, this video tells about the changing conditions when the Covid 19 pandemic hit and criticism of parents for their children achievements. The TBI team, represented by M Akmalun Niam, M Julio Andre and Nayla Kurnia, won as 2nd place at this national level competition.
Reasons for joining the competition
Interested in the competition, because they felt moved to criticize parents who did not care and did not supervise their children using smartphones during pandemic. On the other hand, parents are more concerned with work and neglect their children, they always demanding their children who unwittingly increase the burden on their children, Niam said.
Lifting this friend is because of the anxiety we experience when we see parents who let their children play gadgets continuously without worrying about it. In fact, this video presents two equally wrong points of view, parents are indeed busy because the economy is in turmoil, while children do not want to know about their parents suffering so they seek new happiness through online games, so the child chooses not to care about school grades and is apathetic with their parents. Nayla said.
This is the second achievement of the three of them, after winning the National Short Movie Competition a month ago in Stikes Banjarbaru. The TBI lecturers also responded to the results of this competition and they were very happy with the achievement.
Hope
In every competition, even though this is a national competition using indonesian language, we as English students want to continue to show our identity by always using English in every competition we join. I personally hope that, this achievement can be followed by other friends. I want to invite my TBI friends to participate actively in competitions according to their respective interests. So that together we can boast TBI to national and possibly international. Julio explained.
